Is the print deformed or melted?
Yes, filaments can withstand extreme heat. However, your prints are more likely to develop deformities and a molten appearance when the filament is overheated. Sometimes, the deformities are so obvious that the print looks like it had run through hell and back, while other times, they only show up on certain areas of the print.
The most important thing to do is prevent the hot end and filament from overheating. You can do this by following the tips below:
- Follow the filament’s recommended temperature settings: The simplest and most obvious solution is to follow the correct filament temperature.
- Reduce the heat of the hot end: Lower the temperature of the hot end in the printer or the software settings: You can try reducing it in 5ºC intervals. You could also position the fans at the hot end and even increase their speed for a stronger airflow.
- Speed up the print speed: Increasing the print speed can give off a stronger airflow.
