Get Back to The 80’s
3D printing is the future’s manufacturing method made available today. But without the last couple of decades we wouldn’t be where we are today. Customers can print their way back to the 80’s with Silk Gloss PLA and create products with retro colours that are reminiscent of the post-disco times.
Silk Gloss PLA is an easy to print modified PLA type of 3D printer filament that has a stunning smooth and silky surface finish. Silk Gloss PLA has been enhanced with added polymers that give the material its high level of light dispersion and reflection. This makes Silk Gloss PLA the perfect 3D printer filament for printing objects with a lot of detail and that need to stand out by its colour appearance.

Product: Silk Gloss PLA - 1.75mm
This filament is great. While I struggled with it at first the results are worthy of 5 stars. First prints came out a little dull and had lots of stringing. Stringing was resolved through an increase in retraction distance and speed. Prints were still a little dull so I ran a temperature tower test and found that the best temp setting was slightly below the recommended range. Once everything was dialled in the filament has been printing flawlessly with absolutely stunning results. I am printing Brilliant Purple which has a lovely metallic and glossy finish.
It's worth noting that the spool is 750gms and not 1kg as I assumed, which makes for a pricey filament, but considering FormFutura's environmental ethic and the final print results, it's worth the extra $$$.
Printed using an Ender 3 Pro, Bowden setup, and glass bed.
